Mars Chocolate North America has partnered with Texas State Technical College for $92,203 job training grant.

In a news release, TWC Commissioner Representing Employers, Ruth R. Hughs, said, “The partnership with Mars Chocolate North America and TSTC facilitates advanced skills training for high-demand occupations and growth in the manufacturing industry. We are pleased to present this grant which will create new employment opportunities across Central Texas.”

The grant will be used to provide custom training to 98 workers, new and incumbent, for topics with focused instruction on fasteners, flow meters, hand tools, lubrication, valves, and print reading. The trainers will include process engineers, team members, and process technicians. Workers will receive an average wage of $22.73 upon completion of training.

The Skills Development Fund grant has created, or upgraded, more than 342,428 jobs throughout Texas since its inception in 1996. Also, the grant has assisted 4,238 employers with customized training needs.
