I know who I am & so do the people closest to me. #LiveLoveLaugh

Kevin Hart Announced on Thursday that he will no longer be hosting this year's Oscar Awards.

This stems after Hart's "homophobic" tweets from 2009 and 2011 surfaced, causing an outcry from some people online.

One tweet from 2011 said, "Yo if my son comes home & tries 2 play with my daughter's dollhouse I'm going 2 break it over his head & say n my voice 'stop that's gay'."

Hart released the news of him stepping down from hosting the Oscars via twitter saying, "This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazingly talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past. I'm sorry that I hurt people... I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again."
