A story that garnered national headlines last week and sparked tons of conversation about bail and bonds in America has taken a turn.

Antonio Marquis Willis turned himself in to Killeen police after being named in a warrant stemming from the Dec. 21, 2016 shooting death of 22-year old Donte Javon Samuels.

According to our news partner, KWTX,  Bell County Justice of The Peace Claudia Brown has admitted that she set a $4 billion dollar bond for Willis to make a point about unreasonably high bond amounts that forced too many suspects to remain in jail until trial.

Willis' bond was reduced on Friday by State District Judge John Gautt after Willis' attorney and The Bell County District Attorney's Office filed a joint motion to have his bond reduced to $150,000. On Monday, Willis' was subsequently released after posting bond.
