Killeen Police Investigating After Body Found in Garage

Update: The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Terry Linn Bass. The cause of Bass' death remains under investigation.

Detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a garage on Caprock Drive Friday night.

Police were called to the home at 1708 Caprock Dr. Friday around 8:30 pm. A woman called police after she was unable to open the home’s garage and became suspsicious. Officers checked the home and found a back door open. Once inside, they discovered an unresponsive 49-year-old man who appeared to have been shot.

Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced the man dead at 9:34 pm and ordered that his remains be sent to the Southwest Institute for Forensic Sciences in Dallas for autopsy. The name of the man is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
