Police stopped a car in Texarkana in which the boy and his mother were riding. They determined that the woman was within her rights to pick up the child and allowed them to continue on.

Police are searching for a 10-year-old boy who was reportedly abducted at a bus stop Wednesday morning.

According to our news partner KWTX-TV, officers were sent to a home in the 700 block of Rattlesnake Drive in Harker Heights around 6:55 AM after a caller reported the boy was abducted from a nearby bus stop where he was waiting for a ride to school.

Officers conducted a search of the area, but did not find the child.

Police could not confirm an early suspicious that the child was picked up by a non-custodial female parent. They have not released a description of the child or the woman believed to have taken him.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Harker Heights Police Department at (254) 699-7600.
