KWTX is reporting a Killeen family is collecting donations for hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico.

Froyd and Javier Melendez are asking for the public's help as they collect canned food donations and supplies to send to Puerto Rico following the recent hurricanes.

If you can help, please bring supplies to 810 N. W. S Young Drive Drive in Killeen. The supply drive is being run with the help of www.helpingpuertorico.org.

Javier told KWTX, "We’ve been able to speak to a few members of our families and what we heard from them- really breaks our hearts." His brother Froyd said, "The struggle in Puerto Rico is very bad. To see how the island was so perfect and nice. Now it's on a critical stage."

The Melendez family of Killeen owns Bless Cuts Barber Shop. They have been collecting relief supplies this week for Puerto Rico, which is still experiencing problems getting aid to citizens after being devastated by Hurricane Maria.
