Killeen residents can be alerted instantly to emergency situations on their cell phones.

The City of Killeen announced on Facebook  a service which can notify residents of emergency situations. Which is perfect, since we're on the northern most edge of Harvey this weekend and we could see varying amounts of rain in our area.

The notification is called CodeRED and it takes just a few minutes to fill out an enrollment form online.

In this day and age of "fake" news, it's best to get information from the source itself and not to depend too much on others to deliver it to you. With this app you can get the city emergency information from the city itself. Remember - when it comes to flash floods, every second counts.
