One year after the West Fertilizer Plant explosion, KWTX-TV will air a documentary chronicling the blast and the ongoing recovery efforts.

“After West, Forever Forward” will premiere Thursday at 6 p.m. with limited commercial interruption. The film will be narrated by survivors, family members of those lost, first responders, volunteers and elected officials impacted by the explosion that killed 15 people and injured over 160.

“This is a story of hope and resiliency,” KWTX Executive Produce Trey Friedrichs said in a press release. “The night of April 17, 2013 changed West forever. But as will be discovered while watching the documentary, the residents are determined not to let this one disaster define their future.”
