We all got the chance to see Lonestar perform their biggest hits at the Bell County Expo in 2014.  It was on this date in 2000 that Lonestar accomplished something only Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton had previously done.

Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton became the first to ever reach #1 on the Billboard Country Tracks & Singles chart as well as the Billboard Hot 100.  They accomplished the feat in 1983, and it took 17 years for it to happen again.

The song was originally offered to Boys II Men, but instead went to Lonestar.  The song spent eight weeks at #1 and became Lonestar's biggest single.  It was later released as a remix and went to #1 on the Hot 100 and #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart.  The song was also the last country song to reach #1 on the Hot 100 until Taylor Swift did so with "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" in 2012.

It's also become the most obnoxious (I mean... beautiful) song played at weddings, for what it's worth.
