As the nation struggles to make sense of the tragic shooting which left 49 people dead at a gay night club in Orlando, Fla., country artists are also left mystified in how to share the news with their families.

In a recent Facebook Live chat with Rare Country, Luke Bryan revealed that it isn't going to be easy to explain what happened to his two sons Bo and Tate, who are 8 and 6.

"I was a not a parent during 9/11, and now I'm a parent through things like this," he says. "I know how I dealt with it before being a parent. There's no handbook to this stuff, which is so frustrating."

While Bryan figures out how to approach the subject with his sons, he says he will continue to pray in hopes that God will allow him to find "the right words at the right moment to ease their minds."

Bryan closed out CMA Fest in Nashville on Sunday (June 12) and led the audience of 55,000 country fans in a moment of silence following the Orlando massacre.

“Something has been real heavy on my heart tonight,” Bryan said, pausing in the middle of performing his poignant song, "Drink a Beer." He added, “I want us to take a brief moment of silence and think about all those families that have been affected in Orlando, Florida, in what happened in our great nation last night. Let’s take a moment of silence and pray for all the families and everybody affected.”
