Luke Bryan took Taste of Country readers and followers backstage on Instagram prior to his massive show at the Houston Rodeo on Thursday night (March 16). The singer and ACM Entertainer of the Year nominee shared pics from the hallways, with fans and of him receiving a special honor.

Starting with a selfie introducing himself to ToC Instagram users, Bryan shared a photo of Elvis Presley from backstage, and then two from a belt buckle ceremony from the Houston Rodeo meet and greet room at NRG Stadium.

A pic with fans came just before Bryan took the stage. He'd play for over 75,000 fans, making it the fifth straight year he played the rodeo in front of that large of an audience. Of course, fans in Houston (and everywhere else) are always quick to snap up Luke Bryan tickets.

"It continues to be an honor to play here at the Rodeo," Bryan says. "The fans are so energetic and make this such an incredible night. This is one I always look forward to doing!"

The performance began what will be a busy two weeks for Bryan. He'll first appear with Blake Shelton on The Voice next Monday and Tuesday (March 20-21), serving as an adviser for Team Blake as the show begins the battle rounds. Then on April 2 he'll return to co-host the 2017 ACM Awards with Dierks Bentley. Bryan's Kill the Lights Tour wraps this week, but he'll start the Huntin', Fishin' & Lovin' Every Day Tour on May 5 in Nashville.
