Luke Bryan’s ‘Kick the Dust Up’ Lyric Video Brings Quintessential Country Elements
Luke Bryan’s “Kick the Dust Up” is a farm town anthem with a hint of hip-hop, and the accompanying lyric video fits the bill just right. "No excuse not to sing along now," Bryan said in sharing it with fans.
The video opens with a shot of a girl’s cowboy boots — a running theme throughout the rest of the montage — and shifts to a wide shot of farm land as the funky riff starts to play and the lyrics are stamped on the scene. Corresponding rural images backlight the equally rustic lyrics, including a usual gravel road, truck tires and barn interiors, as the scenes turn from light to dark. By the bridge, the young girl in the boots is silhouetted by truck headlights and the party is on.
“Kick the Dust Up” is the lead-off single to Bryan’s upcoming Kill the Lights album, for which he recently released the full track listing, including one special collaboration with Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild. The tune's unique almost sitar-like hook and Bryan’s wild-west-style swagger earned this song the No. 2 slot on the Billboard Hot Country chart.
When he’s not performing for thousands, Bryan likes to take long, shirtless runs on the beach. Check out that clip below!
