The tight-knit community in the village of Salado has been rocked, as one man in dead and three homes destroyed in overnight house fires.  Alex Torres, a 2002 Salado High School grad, died in one of the blazes.  The other two homes involved in the blazes have students currently attending Salado schools.

It would be of great assistance in this time of great loss for Central Texas to pull together to gather items needed immediately by this family.  It's as cold as it's been all winter today, and these families have nothing to their names after losing everything in the fires.

Items needed are:

High School student – 36 pants, large shirts
High School student – 32/34 pants, medium shirts
High School student – 24 pants, medium shirts
Elementary student – Boys XL shirts and pants (he prefer sweats)

Anyone wishing to donate can drop off clothes, gift cards, cash, checks or other donations at Salado Intermediate School or by visiting any US 105 live broadcast.  Dani will be at Papa Murphy's in Belton from 5-7 Thursday, and Jamie Garrett will be at Denim & Diamonds Thursday night from 10-midnight and out at Dodge Country on CenTex Expressway in Killeen Saturday from 11-2.  All donations will be given directly to the families in need.

Cash donations for the family of Alex Torres can be made online as well.  Let's show Salado the love and support we show all our neighbors when they're in need.
