Police in Temple are searching for a suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint early Friday morning.

Officers were called to a location on S. 27th St. shortly after midnight. There, the victim told them he'd just returned from Killeen with a substantial sum of cash and was getting out of his car when a man approached, pulled a handgun, and demanded the money. The suspect reached into the man's car and stole two paper bags containing the cash, then fled.

The victim reported seeing the suspect leave in a black SUV that may have been a Nissan. The victim followed the vehicle before losing sight of it near 25th St. and Ave. K.

The suspect is described as a slender black male.
