A Missouri man has filed a lawsuit against the Belton Independent School District after claiming the negligence of a school bus driver caused him to injure himself.

George Sipp of Parkville, MO is asking Belton ISD to pay him between $100,000 and $500,000 for injuries suffered during a January 5, 2012 motorcycle accident. Sipp says he was riding his motorcycle southbound along FM 439 when a Belton ISD bus headed in the opposite direction made an unexpected sharp left turn, causing Sipp to lay his vehicle down in order to avoid a collision. Sipp claims the driver of the bus was speeding and failed to take action to avoid a collision.

Sipp’s attorney filed a suit on August 28 seeking compensation for past and future medical expenses as well as physical pain, impairment and mental anguish. Belton ISD has yet to file a response.
