Race number six in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship took place on Sunday at Kansas Speedway, and Matt Kenseth took the checkered flag. Kenseth's victory at the Hollywood Casino 400 was his third of the season and second in the 10-race chase.

The race saw 14 caution flags throughout the afternoon, the most in any race this season. Various drivers smacked the wall at the speedway at some point, including Aric Amriola, who led the most laps but hit the wall hard on lap 213 to take him out of the race. There was also a crash that involved Danica Patrick and Landon Cassill. Patrick seemed to have a problem of some kind with Cassill and intentionally tapped him, taking both out of the race. There was also drama involving Kyle Busch and Ryan Newman, who both were involved in a crash. Busch later said that payback was coming for Newman before the year is done.

With about 30 laps left following a caution, Kenseth took the lead and dominated from then on. Martin Truex Jr. finished in second followed by Paul Menard, Kasey Kahne and Tony Stewart.

Regan Smith, filling in for the injured Dale Earnhardt Jr., had an impressive outing, finishing seventh after starting 39th. According to car owner Rick Hendrick, pending a few more tests, Earnhardt should be back behind the wheel of the #88 next Sunday.

Brad Keselowski came in eighth and retained his lead in the Sprint Cup standings. Jimmie Johnson trails by just seven points.
