It's always fun and inspiring to hear about the young people in Central Texas doing great things! Meet Sarah Crowder, of Temple. If you're attending either the Belton or Temple 4th of July Festivals, you'll get a chance to meet Crowder, the newest Miss Temple, USA who will be competing for Miss Texas, USA in September.

It's really awesome that I get to represent Temple. It's got that hometown feel, which I love.

While Sarah is brand new to pageant life, her friends and family have provided the foundation, coaching, and support to start her down a path to doing great things. One of her mother's best friends, Tina Isdale, recently passed away but a week before that happened she got the ball rolling for Sarah and convinced her to apply for the Miss Temple, USA title. Tina's daughter, Sommer Isdale - a former Miss Teen Texas, is Sarah's coach and mentor through the process.

Sarah graduated this year from Harker Heights High School in the top 4 percent of her class and will be attending TCU this fall with a pre-law track in mind. Her high school debate team did go to State for the Congressional Debate in her senior year, after all.

Listen to the full length video interview and you'll hear all about Sarah's rise to the title of Miss Temple, USA, as well has her upcoming mission to Haiti to build schools for children with Build On Central Texas - an organization that she helped raise over $30,000 for the project.

You can see Sarah this 4th of July weekend in the Belton 4th of July parade, and she will also be speaking at the Temple Festival. Up next for this rising star is the Miss Texas September pageant in Houston. Best of luck, Sarah! Central Texas is proud of you! We have a feeling Miss Temple will help put her city back on the map!
