Harker Heights police are investigating a robbery that took place Friday afternoon in Kern Park on South Ann Blvd. A police department press release says the suspects are two young men, one black, one Hispanic. 

 

While the press release does not say anything about the victim, the Killeen Daily Herald reports, she is a 22 year old mom who was there with her two young children, a toddler and a 7 month old.

 

The woman told the paper it happened around 3:40 in the afternoon, when two men approached her asking for money. When she said she didn’t have any, the woman says she was punched in the face several times.   She says the men dumped out her diaper bag and pushed over the baby stroller that had her son in it.  The baby was not hurt.

 

The report says the two men left with her wallet containing a checkbook and identification cards. She didn’t have any money or credit cards on her.

 

The suspects took off in a black, early 2000's model, Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe.

Police have released descriptions of the suspects. The first subject is described as a black male, with brown eyes, last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts with short spike braids. The suspect is believed to be in his early to mid-20's and approximately 5'9" to 6' tall.

The second subject is described as a possibly Hispanic male, last seen wearing a grey shirt. The suspect is also believe to be in his mid-20's and approximately 5'9" to 6' tall.
