A church group was in the right place at the right time Saturday, as they were able to rescue a 4-week-old baby found sleeping in a car seat next to Interstate 40 in Oklahoma.

Alexis Harrison told KOCO-TV she was riding with her husband when they noticed the car seat on the side of the road and decided to stop and see if there was a child in distress.

Harrison said a church van stopped as well, and that those aboard found a baby in the car seat, along with a birth certificate, Social Security documents, and cash. Everyone worked together to change and comfort the baby until authorities arrived. A 911 call released by KOCO-TV details how the baby was discovered.

KOCO reports that the child's mother has been found, and the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office is working to determine if she'll face charges.

Meanwhile, offers to adopt the child have been pouring in since the story started making the rounds online.
