We ignore our history when we ignore our Senior Citizens

table in their trailer drinking beer, just waiting for a game of Pinnacle to break out. Turns out he was a WWII Veteran who stormed the beaches on D-Day. I was told he suffered from nightmares because of it. This was long before we heard of PTSD. I just thought he was scary.

Turns out this was my loss. As I get older, and closer to the age he was when I was a kid, I think it would've been a treat to listen some stories of his youth. We ignore our history when we ignore our Senior Citizens. Have a conversation with a Senior today, and feel free to make it a habit. Who knows, you just might learn something.
