Why does it feel like so many insect species across the ocean wind up in Texas, and then spread to the rest of the country?

I mean, Killer Bees, Asian Lady Beetles, Zombie Ants, Zika Virus... when does it end?

According to KXAN, Houston is a new home to "Crazy" Ants, which are considered incredibly invasive and can cause serious damage to your home.

These ants are also known as raspberry or tawny ants and colonies have been identified around the Houston area. Insect experts say it's only a matter of time before they migrate all over Texas.

Kevin Kasky, an Entomologist told KXAN:

There are so many of them that they will overwhelm houses and your food supplies and gum up the works. They’ll clog up things that don’t need to be clogged up.

This species of ant is believed to have been brought over from South America.
