An 11-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital Wednesday evening after being swept into a flooded culvert in Nolanville.

According to our news partner KWTX-TV, the boy was playing in a ditch near Avenue H and 10th St. when he was swept away by flood waters. A witness jumped into the water to rescue the boy, but was unsuccessful. Ten firefighters secured by a rope were able to pull the boy out of the water around 7 p.m.

KWTX reports that the boy was unresponsive and that paramedics were performing CPR on him as he was being transported to Scott & White Hospital in Temple. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
