TxDOT is spreading the word that road construction is coming to the northbound lanes of the Twin Bridges over Lake Waco beginning this evening.

TxDOT will be placing concrete barriers on the northbound side of the Twin Bridges, and traffic will be re-routed over the southbound bridge.

Traffic will temporarily move in both directions over the southbound bridge until the work is done.

Once the project on the northbound lanes is finished, all traffic will move over to the northbound bridge while the same work is done on the southbound lanes. .

The total cost of the project according to TxDot is nearly $14 million bucks!

TxDOT says traffic should return to normal on the Twin Bridges over Lake Waco by spring time of next year. It's all part of nearly ten miles of resurfacing work along SH 6.
