From surprise winners to unexpected collaborations, the 2014 CMA Awards were full of OMG moments. Miranda Lambert's performance of 'All About That Bass' with Meghan Trainor was certainly unconventional, but since it was announced, you won't find it on this list. Nope, only moments no one was counting on can be found here.

A surprising haircut, a big reveal and a country legend's first CMAs appearance in four years are among the OMG moments ToC staff recall from the November 5 ABC broadcast. Share your favorite moment from Country Music's Biggest Night in the comments section below!

Did you see? Faith Hill chopped her long locks in favor of a pixie cut. Of course, Hill's gone short before -- in the early '00s, her style changed with the seasons, but since re-focusing on country music she's kept her hair long and natural.

Loretta Lynn's Return to the CMAs

One of the night's hottest searches was: "How old is Loretta Lynn?" The 82-year-old country legend returned to the stage for the first time in four years in 2014, this time singing one of her hits alongside Texas-raised singer and songwriter Kacey Musgraves. Lynn moves slowly, but she had no trouble keeping up with a talent nearly one-fourth her age. It was a great moment, and an important one for a broadcast that leaned further toward pop and modern country than ever before.

    Ebola Can Be Funny

Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood's monologue tackled politics and childbirth in addition to Taylor Swift's departure from country music and ... an epidemic? Paisley turned the lyrics of Dolly Parton's 'Jolene' into 'Quarantine' and dedicated it to a Maryland nurse who refused to be kept down.

    It's a Boy!

Brad Paisley let it "slip." OK, the moment was clearly staged -- watch the punchline again to see him telegraph it -- but it's remarkable that Underwood would let something so personal come out in this fashion. For much of the week she remained tight-lipped about the baby, giving some the impression that her pregnancy would be more of a private affair than one spread across every magazine. We hear she's due in the spring ... hey, the 2015 ACM Awards are in April! Nah, she'd never do that.

Kacey Musgraves Wins Song of the Year

Just six percent of ToC readers picked 'Follow Your Arrow' to win the CMA award for Song of the Year. Miranda Lambert's 'Automatic' was the overwhelming favorite, but the country music industry didn't forget about a song that didn't crack the Top 40. Fun fact: Kacey Musgraves has more CMAs than Luke Bryan!

This was an OMG moment both because the song wasn't a radio hit and because it's so open about equality. The country industry made a statement by selecting this track for Song of the Year: the status quo isn't going to cut it any longer.
