Governor Greg Abbott may want to wait for the coffee to kick in before engaging twitter early in the morning. On Tuesday morning the Texas Governor tweeted the meme seen above and was met with met with the overwhelming amount of people who simply live to cry "fake news". In this case, it seems like an honest mistake made in the middle of the night. Today's tip: Avoid late night tweets!

MyStatesman.com traced the meme back to a site called 9gag.com. The site is known for spoofs and memes that are not accurate but funny. Odd that Governor Abbott did not recognize the 9gag.com watermark on the photo before he shared it.

The Governor isn't the first person to share historically inaccurate quotes that seem real. This was an issue President Lincoln struggled with during his time as well.
