What does it take to ride a bull?  What possesses a man to take that 8 second ride?  Is it the money and fame or the need to prove something to himself?

I'm thinking its a mix of all of the above.  I've known a lot of bull riders in my life, some professional, some not, but all a little bit crazy.  Some were hard drinking, devil-may-care type personalities while others were the total opposite with their workout regiments, healthy eating habits, and quiet demeanor.

But sitting in that chute on top of a ton of mean muscular bovine flesh ready to kick your butt makes all men equal.  And to them, I tip my hat and say a little prayer before that gate swings open and the longest 8 seconds of their life begins again.
