Yesterday (Sunday) my husband "Ike Turner Ballou" and I went to one of my favorite music-related events of the year, the 5th Annual Reckless Celebrity Kelly Softball Jam. The Jam is held every year in Round Rock at the Dell Diamond, home of the Round Rock Express.

It kills Ike when I admit that I am not a fan of baseball...or any sports for that matter...but I do love this event and all proceeds benefit the Reckless Kelly Charitable Youth Foundation. The event, which has raised over $130,000 in the first four years, has helped area youth leagues including South Austin Little League, Balcones Little League, Montopolis Little League, Del Valley Little League, The Miracle League at Town & Country, and The Miracle League of San Antonio.

While we weren't able to stay for the music, we absolutely enjoyed the crazy competition of the two star-studded teams that included the athletic abilities of such artists as Wade Bowen, Roger Creager, Dale Watson, The Trishas, Pauline Reese, Hayes Carll, Randy Rogers and many, many more.

In the end, the "One Hit Wonders" coached by RK's Willy Braun defeated his brother Cody's team the "Sultans of Sing"... but a good time was had by all!
