Red Cross Offering Amazon Gift Cards to Increase Blood Donations

The Red Cross reports that there is currently an emergency blood shortage in the U.S., and they're encouraging potential donors of blood, platelets, and plasma to give by offering $5 Amazon gift cards.

It's an idea that has worked in the past. Offering the gift card incentive has helped get people donating blood more often. Of course, every time you donate blood, you are making a major difference. Patients who receive regular blood transfusions or have unexpected emergencies count on donors like you and me.

The Red Cross will say thank you for your donation between now and August 30th by sending you a claim code for a $5 Amazon.com gift card to your email after you have made a blood, platelet or plasma donation.
