RodeoHouston’s Tribute to Bucking Horses

It's something new this year at RodeoHouston, and it's got some folks in tears.

A superbly done tribute to Bucking Horses has been added to each evenings events at the rodeo, and captured by KCENTV.

The show starts with a lone horse riding to the center of the stadium in the spotlight. While the regular crowd at RodeoHouston knows Hostage, the rest of the world gets introduced to this 14-year veteran of Bucking Horse events. Hostage has won several rodeos along with the National Finals, and RodeoHouston. The 20-year-old beauty has had 11 offspring over the course of her career, all of them born on the same farm.

The best part of the tribute is the showcasing of Hostage and her family. The narrator rightly calls them a family of athletes as he explains their significance to the sport and the community of RodeoHouston. We think it's a beautiful story.

The mare and foal demonstration is a big hit,  and fans at NRG Stadium are coming back to see it again night after night. Enjoy the video, and next time you make it to RodeoHouston be sure to say hello to that family of rodeo horses who will be part of these events for generations.
