A motorcyclist was killed Friday evening after stricking the side of a truck in an intersection.

Killeen police and emergency crews responded to a 9-1-1 report of the crash at the intersection of S. Highway 195 and Triple 7 Trail around 9:30. A preliminary investigation revealed that 44-year-old Jerome Martin III of Round Rock was riding a black Harley Davison traveling northbound in the inside lane of 195 when a GMC truck driven by a 22-year-old man turned east across the northbound lanes of 195, causing the motorcycle to hit the right side of the truck.

Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin pronounced Martin dead at the scene at 10:10pm. His remains have been sent to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas for autopsy. Police say Martin was wearing his helmet. No injuries to the occupants of the truck were reported.
