CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for children in Foster Care) is having a benefit 5K Fun Run on St. Patrick's Day.

Now is the time to sign-up and get prepared. If you want to take a serious run at it, you'll go first. The 5K run has a sign-up starting at 7:30 a.m. with the race beginning at 8:30 a.m.

For those of you that want to walk or run at a non-competitive pace, you can sign-in starting at 8:45 a.m. with the event starting at 10:00 a.m.

You're all encouraged to dress up in your best St. Patrick theme garb. Bring the family as the folks from CASA will be laying down rocks for a rock hunt as well. McDonalds will be giving out coupons for Green Milkshakes, and there'll also be plenty of food trucks on hand.

The event will take place at Friars Creek Hike and Bike Trail, 5000 south 5th street in Temple, TX. Entry fee is only $25 per participant. ( children under the age of 5 are free).

The event goes to support children of Bell and Coryell County who are in the foster system. Register before March 1st will receive a medal.
