San Antonio Cited as Top Travel Spot
What do Iceland, Los Angeles, and Cuba have in common with San Antonio?
Truthfully, a whole lotta nothing except they all made the list of top 24 budget destinations for 2016.
Honestly, I don't know how Budget Travel magazine thinks going to Iceland or Cuba is even remotely affordable. Los Angeles is fairly expensive as well. Of course I'm thinking like a Southerner and a Texan, which means I enjoy low cost of living and the best bang for the buck within close distance. San Antonio is my kinda destination in that regard.
Budget Travel says when in San Antonio, "Admire bold public art and taste foodie-approved 'Texas seafood.'" Truth is, San Antonio's investment in redeveloping the riverfront area is what is paying off. Other cities would do well to take notice. It's featured in this very attractive TV commercial.
