He's an Oscar winner, a cultural icon and a naked bongo player, but back in the early 90s he was just a kid from Texas that was trying to bust into the business despite that Texas drawl that remains to this day.

Along came Richard Linklater, a director once again in the spotlight two decades later for another film, Boyhood, and his coming-of-age film Dazed and Confused.  Looking back it's impossible to see anyone else playing the role McConaughey made famous, but he still had to earn the role like any other schmuck.

This 90-seconds of footage has definitely inspired me to watch the cult classic again this weekend.  Maybe it's time to give in and get the Blue-Ray.  I hope you enjoy a blast-from-the-stoner-past.
