When I was a kid, I never told anyone my crushes. Not even celebrities. I liked to keep my love life private. No one needed to know that I spent most of my 1st grade journal time planning my wedding to Jonathan Taylor Thomas. But I could not hide my fury when I found out that JTT was rumored to be dating Christina Ricci (via Tiger Beat, obvi). I was furious he would betray me like that, and even vowed to boycott Home Improvement (which lasted about a week.) In retrospect, I'm glad things didn't work out. My husband turned out to be alot cuter than Jonathan, so as far as I'm concerned, I dodged a bullet there. Check out the list below to see how he, and all our other 90's crushes turned out!

JONATHAN TAYLOR THOMAS (AKA JTT)

THEN:

JTT starred as middle child Randy Taylor alongside Tim Allen in Home Improvement. He went on to star in films like The Lion King (voice of young Simba, Adventures of  Pinocchio, and Wild America (which I rented 345235 times from Blockbuster).

 NOW:

Thomas graduated from Columbia University after originally enrolling in Harvard. Although he has stayed away from acting, he did recently do a guest appearance on Tim Allen's new show, Last Man Standing.

TIFFANI-AMBER THIESSEN

THEN: 

For many men, including my husband, Kelly Kapowski was their first love. If you were a girl, you probably wanted to be her (or at least have her killer style). No wonder Zack and Slater always fought over her!

NOW

After saying good bye to Bayside and 90210, Tiffani dropped Amber from her name, got married, and had a baby. She now stars on USA's White Collar and lends her voice to Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

LEONARDO DICAPRIO

THEN:

After stealing hearts on Growing Pains, Leo starred in films like Romeo + Juliet and Titanic.

NOW:

Umm in case you've been living under a rock, he's one of the biggest movie stars ever, recently starring in films like The Great Gatsby, Django Unchained, and The Wolf of Wall Street to name a few. And he's still just as attractive.

DEVON SAWA

THEN:

I'm pretty sure my parents suspected Devon Sawa was one of my celebrity crushes when I rented the movie Little Giants every single Friday night. He also made my heart go pitter patter in Casper and Wild America.

NOW:

Sawa plays a regular role on the CW series Nikita. He also starred in Final Destination 5 in 2011. He is also much less attractive as an adult.

DANIELLE FISHEL

THEN:

Topanga not only held Cory Matthew's heart, but also the heart of every adolescent boy who grew up in the 90's.

NOW:

Fishel hosted a clip show on the Syle Network called The Dish for a while, along with guest roles on shows like Parenthood. She recently got married, but the biggest news? She's going to star on a little show called GIRL MEETS WORLD!!!!!!

MARK-PAUL GOSSELAAR

For every guy who loved Kelly, there was a girl who was in love with Zack Morris and his scheming charm.

NOW:

Mark married in 2012 and now stars in the TNT series, Franklin and Bash. We're still crossing our fingers for a Saved By the Bell reunion!

MARIO LOPEZ

THEN:

For those who didn't like clean cut Zack, there was bad boy AC Slater. (I personally, was always torn between the two.)

NOW:

Mario Lopez has done pretty well for himself. Along with a string of tv movies, he's had numerous hosting gigs on shows like Extra and The X Factor.

SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR

THEN:

I'm just now realizing that if you wanted to be a star in the 90's, you needed three names. Anyway, all my guy friends watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer just because they were in love with SMG. I preferred her work in teen movies alongside bf Freddie Prinze Jr.

NOW:

SMG starred in a string of films after Buffy ended. She also ended up marrying Freddie Prinze Jr! Gellar now stars in the new tv comedy, The Crazy Ones, alongside Robin Williams.

JOHN STAMOS:

THEN:

Stamos stole our hearts as bad boy Uncle Jesse on Full House. He was definitely the first older man I crushed on as a kid.

NOW:

After Full House and ER, Stamos has had recurring roles on a string of tv shows. He also has an upcoming movie in production, and don't forget those yogurt commercials! Plus, can we just appreciate this is what he looks like at 50!

NICK CARTER

THEN:

Nick Carter held the keys to my 10 year old heart as the token hottie of the Backstreet Boys.

NOW:

After making headlines as Paris Hilton's boyfriend, Nick dealt with drug addiction and family drama. He's now in recovery, and has even written a book endorsed by Dr. Phil!
