News partner, KWTX recently surveyed a number of local Air Conditioning repair companies and found that many residents are waiting as many as 3 days for service. During the hot summer months of June, July, and August, same-day service on air conditioners is pretty unlikely. Some of the best tactics residents can take to keep their homes cool are preventative. Making sure the coils on the unit itself are clean goes a long way in keeping your air conditioner working properly. It's also a good idea to make sure your changing your filter on the inside unit itself.

Some service companies do offer after-hours service calls but you should expect a much higher bill as the repairmen are most likely working overtime to accommodate such a request.

Most times, an AC unit breaks down due to overheating. It's just one of those things that is gonna happen a lot during a Texas summer.
