Funnyman Steve Martin has announced a new album with his band, the Steep Canyon Rangers. The project is called The Long-Awaited Album; Martin revealed his plans for the record via a tongue-in-cheek infomercial, which readers can watch above.

"Imagine owning every song of Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers' new, long-awaited album called The Long-Awaited Album," Martin's throwback infomercial begins. The clip then rolls through the record's titles as in a typical old-time infomercial; there's a lot of humor thrown in as well.

Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers will drop The Long-Awaited Album on Sept. 22 via Rounder Records. The project is "full of stories that mix humor and melancholy, whimsy and realism, rich characters and concrete details. And lots of banjos," according to a press release.

Produced by Grammys-winning producer Peter Asher, The Long-Awaited Album features 14 new songs, with titles such as "Caroline," "All Night Long," "Santa Fe" and many more. The record can be pre-ordered on Amazon.

Martin, a banjo player and award-winning musician, released his first album in 2010. Since then, he has gained the respect of the music community, playing on prestigious stages and winning the International Bluegrass Music Association's Entertainer of the Year trophy. Martin won the Grammy Awards' Best American Roots Song honor for "Love Has Come for You," the title track of his collaborative record with Edie Brickell.

Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers will celebrate the release of The Long-Awaited Album with an event on Sept. 30, during the IBMA's World of Bluegrass event.
