A lot of folks, myself included, are looking forward to the movie Sully, directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Tom Hanks as commercial airline pilot and national hero Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger.

Sully has become so identified with the incident in the Hudson river that I automatically think of him as a New Yorker.  As it turns out he's originally a Texan from Denison.  According to the recent article about him in a recent Wall Street Journal, he makes his home further west.

"Today, my wife, Lorrie, and I live in the San Francisco Bay area in a 1990s tract house. It’s a two-story stucco home with a tile roof. It’s on a cul de sac with a canyon view."  Hey wherever he's comfortable.

It's a great article interviewing the real Sully. He talks about his formative years of the Lone Star State. No wonder this guy is a true hero.

Mark your calendar, Eastwood movie comes out September 9. And judging by recent statements, we know with Clint will think of you if you don't go and see it.

Part of the trailer has him being run through the ringer by bunch of bureaucrats. Nothing pleases me more than to see the individual spirit try amps over bean counters, pencil pushers and people generally hostile to the spirit of independence which runs through every Texan.
