A concerning phone call led police to a Morgan’s Point home Wednesday where authorities found two dead after a suspected murder suicide.

Authorities say 42-year-old Brian John Cecil called police around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and said he’d killed a woman and would soon kill himself. Police traced the call to a home on Buttercup Loop in Morgan’s Point. When they arrived, the home was in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, authorities found the bodies of Cecil and 41-year-old Tabitha Sazama. Cecil had a gunshot wound to the head, and police were unable to determine what injuries Sazama may have suffered because her body was badly burned.

Police say Sazama had a restraining order against Cecil, and the man had been arrested on October 22 on criminal trespassing charges. He bonded out the day after the arrest.

Investigators found a gun and a sharp implement – possibly a knife or a pair of scissors – in the home, and Cecil’s car was parked a block away. The incident is still under investigation and police have yet to make any statements about a motive.
