One week after the heartbreaking mass shooting at Sutherland Springs First Baptist Church, the doors opened for Sunday service with a special remembrance inside dedicated to all the victims.

A very powerful display was set up inside the church marking the place each one of the victims sat during the day of the shooting. 26 chairs stood inside the church, each marked with the victim's name who sat there and a single rose placed in remembrance.

Sunday service was held in a tent to accommodate a crowd of over 400 people according to CBSDFW. The church's members will decide if they wish to arrange to dedicate the old sanctuary as a permanent memorial and commit other areas of the church's property into a new worship space.

Visitors who attended the service spoke of a message of hope as they left on Sunday. The congregation says they still have plenty to be thankful for and plan to worship in an alternate facility again next weekend. They will also hold their annual Thanksgiving gathering on the grounds of Sutherland First Baptist this month.
