Closing out the month of March is our Hometown Hero, Kenneth Weddle, stationed at Ft. Hood in Killeen. Weddle is no stranger to the military as he's been serving for 19 years. His wife, Shannon, calls Kenneth, 39, a "devoted husband, father, and above all a soldier...

Working a full-time job and a local church youth group leader, much of his spare time is given to the Gatesville Fire Department.

A graduate of Copperas Cove High in 2001, Officer Parker went to college at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville before enlisting in the military. He was stationed in Mannheim, Germany.

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a hero as, "one who shows great courage."
