Seventy years after Auschwitz was liberated, the BBC sent a drone up to show a different perspective of the haunting concentration camp.

The video is darkly beautiful, and gives such scope to the enormity of the holocaust.

Millions of people died systematically at the hands of the Nazis in this place. Perhaps the most chilling shot is of the entrance gates where the German phrase "Arbeit macht frei," or "Work sets you free," is written in the gates.

The video is sobering, and cemented my appreciation for my freedom.
