Temple Church Provides Christmas Shoes For Local Children
This weekend marked the 3rd annual First Blessing Shoe Giveaway with First Baptist Church in Temple.
Central Texas boys and girls enjoyed a free hot breakfast, and a chance to visit with Santa and have their photo taken with him. Each of the children received a brand new pair of shoes for Christmas.
KWTX reports that First Baptist Church raised $12,000 dollars to buy shoes from Shoe Carnival. The funds allowed them to purchase 600 pairs of socks and shoes for children ranging from infants to 8th grade students.
The church and local non-profit organizations partnered to select kids in need to receive a free breakfast, a bible, a photo with Santa, and 3 new pairs of shoes.
