Temple Fire & Rescue is conducting its annual Rescue Elves Toys Program to provide toys for needy children from birth to 18.

For families having a tough time putting food on the table, buying toys for their children this holiday season is unfeasible. That’s where Temple firefighters come in.

Citizens who want to help are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys at any Temple Fire station. They may also make a financial contribution. The program’s directors ask that any checks be made payable to Temple Fire and Rescue with “Rescue Elves” noted in the memo. Checks can be mailed to 210 North 3rd Street, Temple, Texas 76501.

Those in need of assistance from the program are asked to contact the Temple HELP Center located at 11 North 2nd Street in Temple. Their phone number is (254) 770-6842.

The Rescue Elves Toy Program works with, not in competition with, other local charities to provide toys to needy families in the Temple area. Last year, they were able to serve 119 families and 346 children with the public’s help.
