Temple police are searching for a man suspected of robbing a convenience store with a knife early Thursday morning.

Police responded to a panic alarm at the CEFCO store at 605 North 3rd Street around 3:25 a.m. When they arrived, an employee told them a man had entered the store, approached the register, and demanded cash. The employee said the man didn't openly display a weapon, but claimed to have a knife, the outline of which the employee could see through the fabric of the sweatshirt the suspect was wearing.

The suspect fled south on foot after receiving the cash.

The suspect was described as a black man in his 20's wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark shorts, and dark socks and sandals. The man was clean shaven with a thin build, approximately 5'10".

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500 or Bell County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-TIPS. All information is anonymous and confidential, and information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
