Temple residents are planning a Rally for Peace after the recent wave of violence in Dallas and across the country. The event will take place Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. in front of the city's Municipal Building #2 on Main Street. The event gives a chance for everyone in the community to come together and pray and experience fellowship with each other. Temple Mayor Danny Dunn plans on being in attendance. Dunn said:

I think it’s important that we come together during turbulent times and take the opportunity to be with one another and share that we are a peaceful community.

There are a bunch of speakers representing Central Texas churches and area businesses. Expect lots of singing as there are a lot of songs selected for the event, and also a moment of silence to honor those near and far who have lost their lives in cities across the country.

The event will end with a community prayer for Central Texas.
