One of Texas' most wanted criminals is now behind bars thanks to a tip that led to his arrest in Victoria.

Department of Public Safety investigators say 48-year-old John Guevara, a member of the Mexican Mafia in Texas, has an extensive criminal record that includes convictions for assault with a deadly weapon, robbery, burglary, drug counts and parole violation. Guevara was paroled in 2012, but a warrant was issued for him in 2013 for a parole violation related to a 1997 aggravated robbery in Halletsville.

The tip that led to Guevara's arrest on Tuesday netted a reward of $7,500. Anyone with information that could aid in the arrest of other wanted criminals should call Texas Crime Stoppers at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
