The Band Perry’s Kimberly Perry Marries J.P. Arencibia
The Band Perry's Kimberly Perry and boyfriend J.P. Arencibia were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, Tenn. on Thursday afternoon.
E! News and several other media outlets report that a reception was scheduled to take place at Perry's parents' home, the same place where the former Major League Baseball catcher proposed last September. Since then the two have been coy with details about the wedding, only saying they planned to marry in the summer.
Arencibia and Perry met at the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Fla. in early 2012. The Florida-raised ballplayer was a fan of her from her band's music videos, and he used connections to get backstage. He's 28, she's 29 years old.
Photos at WJHL.com show Perry in her dress, as well as celebrities like Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher attending the event. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert were also said to be in attendance. Many photos show guests carrying umbrellas, but the news station believes that was to shield her dress from cameras, not to protect the wedding party from rain.
The Band Perry doesn't perform again until June 20 in Austin, Texas. Arencibia was most recently with the Texas Rangers, but was sent to their Triple A affiliate last May. It's not clear if he's still a part of their organization. If so he missed a game to attend his wedding.
