The Grand Canyon of Texas is Not Only Beautiful, It’s Accessible
If you think the Texas Panhandle is just flatland, you need to visit Palo Duro Canyon right now. Palo Duro Canyon is Texas' very own Grand Canyon. It's the second biggest canyon in the U.S. and it's located just southeast of Amarillo. What makes it better than the Grand Canyon is its accessibility. They made it so you can drive down into it with over 30 miles of trails. Plus you can camp down in it either in your own tent or in one of their cabins that give you a view of the canyon that has to be seen to believe. It truly is an amazing view to wake up to and will be one of the best of your life.
After a very brief but powerful storm that blew through Palo Duro Canyon I shot this beauty. #palodurocanyon #texasstateparks @texasstateparks #txparks #rainbow #snapseed #iphone6 A photo posted by Matt Maxwell (@matt___maxwell) on
So whether you want to drive through, hike, bike around, horse around, or even zip line across it, Palo Duro Canyon is waiting for you and your family.
