It may seem like Mindy Kaling left 'The Office' at a crucial juncture heading into its ninth, and final season, but don't feel to bad for the current 'Mindy Project' star.  Following only two episodes, FOX has decided to see exactly where the 'Project' is going by ordering additional episodes for its first season.  The same goes for fellow Tuesday comedy 'Ben & Kate,' though with a different kind of renewal.  Get the scoop on both shows and FOX's orders inside!

It's good news for Mindy Kaling's fledgling comedy 'The Mindy Project,' as FOX has ordered a full season for the freshman effort.  'The Mindy Project' mark's Kaling's first solo television project, after eight years both on and off-screen with 'The Office.

Also with reason to celebrate is fellow FOX Tuesday night comedy 'Ben & Kate,' though in their case te network has only ordered an additional six episodes beyond its initial order of 13.  Surprisingly, the reduced order has nothing to do with its mediocre ratings, but rather to accommodate series creator Dana Fox’s pregnancy.  Says FOX head Kevin Reilly:

'Ben and Kate' and 'The Mindy Project' have everything we want to stand for in comedy … smart writing, hugely appealing casts and comedy that feels contemporary and real … which is why we’re confident they will continue to build on what is already an appointment comedy night for young, influential audiences on Tuesdays.

Well, what say you?  Are you liking either 'The Mindy Project' or 'Ben and Kate' enough to justify additional episode orders?  Give us your thoughts in the comments!
