Football season is right around the corner, and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor just had three players named to the Preseason All-American Team!According to a press release: The Cru had two First Team selections and also placed a player on the Second Team.

Defensive end Teidrick Smith and offensive guard Broderick Jenkins were both named First Team Preseason All-Americans by D3football.com. Smith, a senior from Hallettsville High School, has won back-to-back American Southwest Conference Defensive Player and Defensive Lineman of the Year honors. He set new UMHB and ASC record with 18 sacks and 27 tackles for loss last season and also blocked a school-record six kicks. Jenkins, a senior from Frisco Centennial High School, was an All-American last season as the highest-grading offensive lineman for the Cru. This is the third Preseason All-American honor for both players.

 Safety Baylor Mullins was named to the All-American Second Team. Mullins, a senior from Merkel High School, posted 90 total tackles, intercepted five passes and broke up seven others last season. He also returned two of those picks for touchdowns.
 
The Cru football team went 11-2 overall last season and won a share of the ASC title with a 4-1 league mark. UMHB football will report to campus August 10th and kicks off the 2016 season with a home game against Ohio Wesleyan on September 3rd.
